Restless Development is the leading youth-led development agency, operating in Tanzania since 1993. Our mission is to place young people at the forefront of change for them to effectively contribute to real progress towards national and global development targets. Our vision is that young people are taking up leadership roles which contribute to the urgent development needs of Tanzania as set out by National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP II) in support of the government, civil society and the private sector.
Capitalizing on the launch of a new brand in July 2010 and the launch of a new 5-year global strategy (2011 – 2015), Restless Development is taking up a position as the global banner carrier for youth-led development in Tanzania – demonstrating at the grassroots and policy levels that young people can and must play a lead role in development. We are looking for a talented, passionate and skilled Assistant Programme Coordinator to support in the implementation of our International Citizen Service (ICS) programme. ICS is the UK’s leading global volunteering programme for young people who want to do voluntary development work in some of the most under-served communities around the world. ICS brings together young people from different countries to fight poverty. Thus, young volunteers from the UK work alongside volunteers from Tanzania.
The Assitant Programme Coordinator role will contribute to growing the impact, effectiveness and credibility of delivering pre professional skills development to students at Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) while at the same time creating a global network between youngpeople from Tanzania with their counterparts from the UK. Youwill work closely with the team leaders to ensure that both international and National volunteers remain engaged and focused throughout the cycle of the programme.
You will be a dynamic and a passionate individual, with experience working in a cross-cultural setting. You will be practical, solution-focused, committed to delivering high standard programmes, while also ensuring that sharing and learning between national and international volunteers is practical and filters down to programme delivery on the ground.
